Well, this is it, the first day of Movember!
If you’re not familiar with Movember, it is an annual campaign to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. To create a buzz and get as many men as possible to act as walking reminders of the Movember movement, Movember encourages men to grow a moustache during November.
So this is day one in my attempt to grow a moustache. And despite remembering not to shave this morning, I’m disappointed to see that there’s very little sign of any facial hair on my upper lip this morning. I’ve never tried to grow a moustache before and I’m not sure if I even can! My wife is very unhappy about the whole thing, so I suspect that she will try to either talk me out of growing a ‘tash, or may try to shave it off whilst I’m asleep!
I would be very grateful for any donations which are shared between Prostate Cancer UK, The Institute of Cancer Research and the Movember Foundation. Donations can be made at my ‘Mo Space’ site at
If you feel like getting involved as well, why not register at uk.movember.com and start growing that ‘tash! And to help you keep your new moustache under control during Movember, I’ve enclosed a rather handy little moustache comb that may come in useful!
So if you see me out and about during November, please don’t laugh if the moustache is looking a bit naff and thank you in advance if you are able to make a donation.
